Disaster Preparedness

As a designated Emergency Volunteer Center (EVC), the Volunteer Center will play a lead role in communicating with and coordinating spontaneous volunteers and nonprofits who come forward to help in an emergency or disaster. In the event that the Volunteer Center activates as an EVC due to a disaster, we will need the assistance of a trained group of volunteers – an EVC Team – to support EVC operations and enable us to process hundreds (and potentially thousands) of spontaneous volunteers to connect them to areas of need throughout our service area.
