Affinity Legends Event 2011
Four South Bay women–Yvonne Bogdanovich, Anne Destabelle, Marylyn Ginsburg Klaus and Sue Soldoff–were named “Legends in Our Time” by the Affinity Group of the Volunteer Center for their outstanding work in the community. The spectacular event was held at the beautiful Rolling Hills home of Janet and Bob Wolfenden on May 11th to celebrate these women, who have contributed thousands of hours of volunteer activities to various charities and endeavors. Chef Shafer out did himself again with a scrumptious buffet for almost 200 people.
The annual event is also a fund-raiser for the Volunteer Center’s Operation Teddy Bear program, which distributes 5,600 literacy backpacks to disadvantaged local first-graders. These backpacks are filled with toys, learning materials, books and a very special teddy bear. Anyone interested in joining the Palos Verdes area Affinity Group should call Affinity President Arline Grotz at 310-377-7746.
